This 24 x 36 cedar planter box is the largest planter in the lineup and a great project for the beginner woodworker who wants to build something with real presence. The build plans will help you by providing not only a cut list, materials list, and tool recommendations, but also a step-by-step set of instructions with 3D-rendered pictures from beginning to end.
At 24 inches wide and 36 inches long, this planter offers a lot more growing space than a smaller box, making it ideal for flowers, herbs, vegetables, or seasonal displays that need room to spread out. Its larger footprint also makes it a true statement piece for a porch, patio, deck, or garden area, giving you a planter that looks substantial and built to stand out.
It can be frustrating to see oversized planter boxes sold at steep retail prices when a lot of people just want something well-built, attractive, and practical. This design was created to give you that bigger, more impressive look without the markup, while still being manageable to build with the right plan in hand.
It’s much more satisfying to build a project like this yourself. I promise you, if I can figure it out, then so can you. I took what I learned and compiled it into this 13-page set of DIY build plans ready to go immediately upon purchase. This plan will walk you through the tools needed, the materials required, and the cuts to make so putting one of these cedar planter boxes together feels much more manageable.
With these digital plans, you will get a 15-page PDF with:
- Detailed cut lists.
- Materials and advice on buying the right stuff.
- Step-by-step instructions to complete the build.
Be sure to sign up for our email list so you’re notified as soon as I upload more designs. I’m continuing to build out my library of 3D plan sets, and I’ve got plenty more projects planned for the future.
